Open Days 2012 - PERIA conferences "How can the regional level learn from each other on innovation and the regional context contribute to smart specialisation?"

Oct 9, 2012 to Oct 9, 2012
Brussels (Centre of the Regions) / Belgium

PERIA, the Partnership on European Regional Innovation Agencies, and the regions of Andalusia, Basse-Normandie, Mazovia and Murcia presents two workshops on regional innovation and smart specialisation during the OPEN DAYS in Brussels:

1) How can the regional level learn from each other on innovation?

   (09:00am - 10:45am)

The workshop presents testimonials of territorial cooperation in the field of regional innovation, which were carried out by partners of PERIA. As PERIA is an interregional cooperation to develop services offered by a region (in particular by the regional authority and its regional innovation agency), concrete results will be introduced on good practice exchanges that were conducted between the partnering regions of Aquitaine, Champagne-Ardenne, Észak-Alföld, Saxony-Anhalt, Valencia, and Veneto regions.

2) How can the regional context contribute to smart specialisation?

  (11.15am - 01:00pm)

This workshop focuses on conceptual aspects and implementation of smart specialisation, presenting the global approach of the concept and the regional implementations presented by Andalusia, Basse-Normandie, Mazovia and Murcia. The workshop provides opportunity for debate on the role of regional authorities and RIAs in the smart specialisation concept, and would introduce regional examples about how smart specialisation can be implemented on regional level.
