The Turkish EUREKA Chairmanship, leading the EUREKA network of 40 national innovation agencies until mid-2013, announced today entry criteria for the prestigious 2013 EUREKA Innovation Award. The Award will reward an outstanding EUREKA project, completed in the past few years. EUREKA projects aim at the introduction of a novel technology to the international market, from mobile phone technologies and electric cars to innovative medical applications. Teams of researchers, entrepreneurs and engineers from across Europe and beyond work together on each EUREKA project.
'THE EUREKA INNOVATION AWARD WILL IN 2013 BE DELIVERED TO AN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT CONSORTIUM COMPOSED OF POTENTIAL COMPETITORS'
Alongside the theme of the Turkish Chairmanship, ‘EUREKA as a global platform for co-opetitive innovation’, the EUREKA Innovation Award will in 2013 be delivered to an international project consortium composed of potential competitors, seeking the opportunity to collaborate towards a common technological goal. The introduction of a new technology on an international scale and the involvement of women in the research project are also considered as important selection criteria.
The prize-winning project will receive a publicity package worth the equivalent of 10,000 euro, including media releases, exposure to the science and business communities and an invitation to a relevant international event. An award ceremony will take place during the EUREKA Interparliamentary Conference, organised next year at the European Parliament in Brussels, in May.
