10 million € in 2016: Spanish funding for Eurostars doubles in two years

Good news for innovative SMEs based in Spain - due to the excellent results of the Spanish participants in past Eurostars Calls, Spanish funding for the programme has doubled in only two years (5 million € in 2014, 7 million € in 2015, 10 million € in 2016). Various promotional events make sure that many high- quality applications are expected for the 5th cut-off date (CoD) on 18 February 2016, 20h00 Brussels time.

More than 90 attendees from all around Spain came to CDTI’s headquarters in Madrid to take part in the main national event on 19 January 2016 promoting Spanish participation in the next cut-off date. The presentations by José Jimenez (Independent Evaluation Panel member – CoD3), Ramem (project leader of E!6911 GANS) and CDTI staff of the Spanish EUREKA Office and the Promotion and Coordination Directorate took place in front of an active audience. At the end of the presentations a total of 23 meetings were held with CDTI experts giving specific advice about draft proposals.

Gijon in northern Spain saw a shorter version of the Madrid event in its regional ICT Technological Center on 21 January. The about 15 participants included not only ICT, biotech and materials companies. Presentations were given by CDTI staff of the Spanish EUREKA Office and the Promotion and Coordination Directorate. At the end of the presentations 5 meetings with CDTI experts took place to give specific advice about draft proposals. Other “short version” events will take place in the forthcoming weeks.
