EUREKA encourages its SME project participants to keep up-to-date with the EU’s chemicals legislation REACH and the Biocidal products regulation. One of its aims is to ensure high level of protection for human health and the environment; replacing harmful chemicals with safer alternatives plays an important role to achieve this objective.
'A GOOD WAY TO STAY UP-TO-DATE IS TO SUBSCRIBE TO THE ECHA NEWSLETTER.'
Small and Medium-sized Entrerprises (SMEs) involved in research and development activities, such as the ones participating in EUREKA projects, can play a key role in developing economically and technically viable solutions to progressively replace the most harmful chemicals on the EU market today. This is why EUREKA collaborates with ECHA, the European Chemicals Agency, to raise the innovation community's awareness of REACH and the Biocidal products regulation managed by ECHA.
EUREKA SMEs are encouraged to subscribe to the ECHA newsletter and to get involved by taking part in ECHA's public consultations on safer alternatives and by identifying new R&D needs for safer technologies that can also be funded by EU or national programmes.
