About

EURIPIDES² catalyses the generation of innovative, industry-driven, pre-competitive R&D projects in the area of Smart Electronic Systems. Electronics is an enabling technology and a propulsive sector directly contributing to at least 10% of the world GDP.

These activities involve about 1.7 million employees in Europe, out of the 2.5 million employed in all the European electronics industry.

By 2020, players in EURIPIDES² could provide 700 00 new jobs.

EURIPIDES² is the innovation hub for smart sensors, smart power modules, electronic hardware platforms and more generally electronic product integration and embedded systems for automotive, aeronautics and space, security, medical electronics, smart everywhere (cities, home, wearable) and industrial electronics.

EURIPIDES² will support projects involving all actors along the value chain with a specific focus on innovative SMEs hence optimizing the impact on employment and growth.

As a EUREKA Cluster, the EURIPIDES² network is open to participants worldwide.

Strategy

EURIPIDES² is committed to enlarge its community not only in Europe but also in associated EUREKA countries and in all emerging countries.

EURIPIDES² will focus on innovative applications and marketable products that could be manufactured in Europe at competitive prices.

EURIPIDES will continue building partnerships with its European and national counterparts such as EPoSS, EUREKA Clusters, national competitiveness clusters and all actors involved in smart systems integration.

Funding rules

Partners involved in a EURIPIDES² project are funded directly by the Governments of their respective countries, according to national funding procedures.

The EURIPIDES² website provides the contact details for Public Authorities (EURIPIDAC) that support and coordinate the funding of EURIPIDES² projects. Those are the people you need to be in touch with at every stage of preparing your proposal in order to increase the chances of a successful proposal.Funding rates, eligibility rules and national consortia for each country are also available.

EURIPIDES² launches two calls per year, in a two-step approach, to maximise the chances for success and avoid unnecessary time consuming efforts in setting up projects.

At both stages, the EURIPIDES² Office checks whether public funding would be available for partners through the Public authorities’ network (EURIPIDAC).
