This conference, hosted by Forum Europe in partnership with RAND Europe, will analyse Europe’s industrial policies and how Europe can re-energise its industrial and manufacturing sectors to ensure their global competitiveness, create jobs and contribute to economic growth.

Eighteen months on from the European Commission’s communication “For a European Industrial Renaissance”, and with the Europe2020 strategy mid-term review public consultation results now in the public domain, this Forum Europe - RAND Europe joint conference initiative will assess Europe’s industrial policy, key outcomes from the public consultation, future priorities for policymakers, the role of industry, both hi-tech and otherwise, the future of R&D and investment, and the outlook for skills, jobs and growth in Europe.

The agenda includes the following topics:

  • A New Industrial Ambition for Europe – What are the megatrends impacting on European industry and manufacturing?
  • How is technology and innovation changing the face of industry and manufacturing in Europe?
  • The social dimensions: skills, labour and entrepreneurship in Industry 4.0.

Raising the productivity and competitiveness of European businesses through technology. Boosting national economies on the international market, and strengthening the basis for sustainable prosperity and employment.
