EUREKA telecoms specialised cluster CELTIC extended until 2020

EUREKA cluster CELTIC has been extended until 2020, the new designation CELTIC-Plus will be officially in use as from 2011.
 
Since its creation in 2003, CELTIC has become one of the most efficient EUREKA  tools for the support of European R&D: by 2011, more than 90 R&D projects, involving around 500 organisations from 25 countries representing a total budget of over 700 million euro and a total of over 6000 person/years will have contributed to the CELTIC programme.
 
Thanks to CELTIC projects, major achievements have been made in service platforms, new multimedia services, and infrastructure solutions, this through 175 new products and more than 370 contributions to standards.
