The growing level of resources and political commitments to RTD lies in the value of the contribution that public and private research makes to Europe’s economic, social and environmental goals.
EUREKA has followed this approach, and all its strategic initiatives have been focused on areas of ‘grand challenges’. Nowadays, when this is even more at the heart of European innovation strategy, EUREKA increasingly contributes to addressing challenges Europe is facing today by using and adapting its own instruments.
Following the approach of the previous EUREKA chairs, the Hungarian chair will put the collaborations with the European Technology Platforms into the focus for addressing grand challenges and generating new projects. Objectives of this activities:
In November and January EUREKA hosted two major conferences aiming at fostering interdisciplinary reasearch projects in the food sector. A survey has also been undertaken to evaluate the R&D funding capabilities of EUREKA member countries available for this industry.
