The School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering of the UCD promotes the Eurostars Programme to Irish SMEs.

On the 29th of June, the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering of the University College Dublin (UCD) held a half day event for Irish SMEs to hear about the European R&D funding scheme, Eurostars.
 
The goal and advantages of Eurostar Projects were brought forward to the Irish SMEs attending the event. Dr Terence O’Donnell, Programme Manager Enterprise Ireland and EUREKA National Project Coordinator, gave an overview of the funding scheme and answered questions. Speakers from Engineering and Material Science in UCD and University of Limerich (UL), Terry McGrail, giving an overview of their expertise and how they can help companies undertaking research projects An SME organisation from Paris also gave a presentation on the day offering to  act as a broker if Irish SMEs need assistance in finding a French partner. Finally Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC) gave a talk on additional research opportunities for Irish companies.
