Valorification of natural resources using green technology for nutraceutical bioproducts development

Ppronature is a modern concept for the development and production of innovative technology for fabrication of nutraceutical bioproducts (like soup and soft drink rich in vitamine k2) for haemodialysis patients with immunological and cardiovascular deficiency .

PRONATURE is a modern concept for the development and fabrication of the innovative bioproducts (IB) from natural ingredients with the target for therapeutical nutrition of haemodialysis patients with immunological and cardiovascular deficiency (HPIC). Formulation and fabrication of the nutraceutical bioproducts (NB) is base on existing technologies and co-operation of all partners from the consortium. All activities of the project are aimed at the improvement of products and limited just to civil applications.HPIC should limit fluid intake because as kidney function is lost the kidneys can no longer remove excess fluid, which can lead to serious complications. Fluid control for HPIC is the main factor of their healthy and is responsible about weight gain between treatments, urine output and swelling. For HPIC, the complications of excess fluid are: high blood pressure, a sudden drop to low blood pressure (generally occurs during hemodialysis), shortness of breath (and in some instances, fluid in the lungs), heart problems, which can include a fast pulse, weakened heart muscles and an enlarged heart, accelerated vascular calcification.In this context, the milestones of PRONATURE project are producing of two NB: soup & soft drink rich in Vitamin K2 for the daily kidney-friendly diet in term of therapeutical nutrition of HPIC, realisation a performant hybrid technology for obtaining NB and setting an equilibrate formulations from point of view of chemical composition and of nutritional values. The principal objective of PRONATURE project is directed to the fabrication of two products for HPIC, like: soup & soft drink rich in Vitamin K2 to keep a balance between their daily fluid control and a safe life by hybrid technology which uses steam distillation equipment direct connected with a simultaneous microwave and ultrasounds - assisted process[1] and in time analizer of the chemical composition of the ingredients uses for preparation of the nutraceutical bioproducts (HB).The second objective of this project is valorification of natural resources (collagen, medicinal plants, pure spring water) for obtaining active ingredients for production of nutraceutical products for HPIC and establishing a protocol for obtaining two nutraceutical bioproduct – NB like functional food: soft drinks rich in Vitamin K2 and soup for therapeutical nutrition of HPIC, formulations and their achievement. The specific activities for targeting our aim including: to extract and characterize the biological active compounds from plants by HB, the optimize the extraction process of the active ingredients, extraction, purify and characterize the collagen in form of hydrolysate or gelatin, to design and to achieve of formulations for NB in forms of soft drinks rich in Vitamin K2 and soups, the select optimal formulations of NB - functional food and evaluating of the nutritional capacity and of the microelements balance of the final products. The third objective is achievement of experimental production of NB - functional food: soft drinks rich in Vitamin K2 and soup for therapeutical nutrition of HPIC, by: analyze the operational conditions in order to obtain active ingredients using experimental design tools, to develop laboratory HB for obtaining active ingredients of food grade, to achieve of active ingredients of food grade and to elaborate their initial referential, to physical-chemical and microbiological characterize the obtained formulations.The last objective of the project is technology transfer to producer, namely: to elaborate and validate the HB of obtaining NB formulations- functional food: soft drinks rich in Vitamin K2 and soup for therapeutical nutrition of HPIC, to elaborate initial referentials of soft drinks rich in Vitamin K2 and soup, to develop technical documentation in order to notify/certificate the range of nutraceutical bioproducts in forms of soft drinks rich in Vitamin K2 and soups, to elaborate technical specifications: product datasheets for active ingredients, to apply patent application about technology and products formulation, creating a catalog on-line of presentation using the instructions for nutraceutical bioproducts in forms of soft drinks rich in Vitamin K2 and soups, to disseminate the results by participation at symposia / conferences and publishing articles in special journals; organisation of round tables, workshops and working visiting.The novelty of PRONATURE project resides from radicaly new solution from point of view of composition of NB in forms of soft drinks rich in Vitamin K2 and soups for HPIC and of their production technology. PRONATURE project deliverables are: validated HB of obtaining nutraceutical bioproducts for HPIC, two formulations for NB, one patent applications, two scientific papers published in ISI journals, creating a two jobs at the coordinating Institution.
