In the age of interactive multimedia applications, a traditional cinema and theatre production on a stage with actors, stage decoration and costumes as well as a fixed action from a script, is no longer the only entertainment possibility.
The project PEACEMACHINE is a virtual show based on a new multimedia equipment suitable for show productions.
The FRAUNHOFER INSTITUTE FOR MEDIA COMMUNICATION - IMK in St. Augustin, Bonn (GERMANY) and FHG FIRST, Berlin (GERMANY) provides the technological platform and the contacts to specialists for the project development. Its production staff has contact with internationally known Game + Film directors, computer animators, scenic and interface designers, cinematic sound engineers and Virtual Reality specialists producing live 3-D models, various textures and live virtual animation sequences.
Some of the audience and all the actors will be equipped with specially designed user interfaces containing special sensors so the audience can interact directly with the cast. Manipulation of the live staging, scenic sequences and sound will be possible throughout the game/cinema/theatre show. The whole audience may be equipped with special 3-D glasses if they wish.
