Driver improvement service for safer roads

Hipdriver is a subscription based driver improvement portal.
the subscription consist of a driver feedback and risk performance service, a telematics device to be placed in the cars to collect and transmit data about current driving style and car status, a market place with solid incentives.

This decade is the United Nations decade for reducing car accidents globally. Road accidents is the single biggest killer of young people globally. The business concept of HipDriver comes from the company`s founder, the young rally driver at the Volkswagen WRC team, Andreas Mikkelsen (24), currently ranked no3 in the world. From his rally car he knew that its possible to transmit driving style data real time to another location. Data about line shifts, harsh breaking, speeding, acceleration etc. His idea was simply to make cars able to transmit real time data about driving style, process it and present a state of the art driver improvement program to the driver and a feedback model to insurance corporations and anonymously sharing of all data for general road safety work. The financial incentive for the drivers will be solid discounts on insurance premiums and other advantages. Society will gain from reduced no. of accidents and better knowledge and research, and insurance corporations will gain from reduced accident claims. HipDriver Spain is a 100% subsidiary of the Norwegian holding company, HipDriver AS. HipDriver Spain is based in Andalusia region in Southern Spain and is the development company of HipDriver AS specializing in big data and analytics. The subscription service consist of: * a telematics device to be placed in the cars OBDII diagnostic port to collect and transmit data about current driving style, GPS data and car diagnostic status * a driver feedback and risk performance service * a market place and big-data ecosystem with solid incentives (including insurance discounts based on actual risk profile) HipDriver has already established a cross-sector partnership in order to develop a state-of the art system. These partners are leading road safety organizations and relevant corporations. One of the main developing and marketing partner is the 100% Bosch owned company, Mobiliy Media. Together, the parties will develop optimal hardware and software in order to collect data from the cars board computers. Multiple variables of data from the car, its surroundings and the driver will be transmitted, processed, analyzed, presented and stored every second from multiple cars simultaneously. To merge local knowledge and requirements from a cross-sector partnership into one functional specification creating a platform handling these challenges in one of the major challenges. The partnership is great because Bosch has a 70% marketshare of cars on board automobile computers, and can therefore go deeper into the cars electronics and sensors to obtain more exact feedback models to the drivers. No market is the same, and HipDriver has to develop relevant models for each market (i.e. Norway is different than Turkey or Spain). Therefore, the algorithms must be intelligent and take into consideration local conditions. HipDriver will create feedback models that are scientifically based, pedagogic, relevant and awareness raising in each market. HipDriver will enter a new and growing market with a unique value proposition and partner network. The goal is a rapid build-up of a highly valuable customer base consisting of the most attractive car insurance clients in the market for usage-based insurance expected to reach USD 100 billion in 2020. By acting holistically from day one, HipDriver seek to create a value-adding big-data eco-system for connected drivers where a wide range of businesses, governments and insurance corporations receives the opportunity to gain from the fruitful cooperation of a broader network. Not only will the subscribers receive great discounts on their insurance, but also the opportunity to access a network of resources providing many advantages. These advantages goes far beyond insurance premiums, both for the driver and the society. In order to position itself as a leading service with the best models and go to market strategies, HipDriver has decided to partner with Farplas. Farplas is a Turkish industrial large corporation with a solid experience from the automotive industry. Together the parties has decided to create a project covering these main points where Farplas will add valuable insight, network and development.
