Research and development of a new manufacturing process using advanced super absorbent towels additives

Research and development of a towel manufacturing process to achieve a final product with extreme properties with respect to absorption, softness and density sensation, incorporating advanced auxiliaries, using multivariable analysis methods and looking for a weight reduction.

Research and development of a new manufacturing process that allows obtaining a range of terrycloth fabrics, both for plain weaving and knitting, adding new finishing systems that generates a super-absorbent natural-fiber fabric, and obtaining a extraordinary touch and volume in order to reduce the weight but offering identical features. In order to carry out the project, it will be studied the optimal finishing processes and the auxiliary products that are able to offer high level performance. Therefore, the application of complex products in order to create a compound able to reach these specifications will be studied, adding a complex formulation that, up to the current date, it never has been developed before. During the investigation process, it will be carried out a multivariable analysis, which will allow us to study how these different parameters have their influence and how they interacts each other, without prefixing any parameter initially. Inside the finishing systems, it will be developed the complete process without discarding any system and assessing the new drying techniques, as well as trying to be as energetically efficient as possible taking in account decimal fractions of every variable and their energetic consume. In these kinds of products the concept of quality and prestige are closely related and therefore, all the variables involved on the sensorial perception of the fabric will be taken in account in order to maximize the visual aspect, the odor, the comfort, as well as important technical aspects. It will be established a system of evaluation from users to control the parameters described and will be prioritized those results with better marks in the multivariable development. Finally, all the reengineering process needed to achieve the properties required as the level of absorption, softness, and light weight, will be carried out in order to make them appreciable by the customers. At the end of the Project, the levels of security required to avoid defects or problems in the manufacturing process will be established in order to guarantee the quality of the industrial process.
