EUREKA is a long-established European network, present in 40 countries and having also the European Union as one of its members. It is committed to improving the competitiveness of Europe through the support it offers to organisations – mostly businesses, which are creating new technological products and high-tech services in Europe.

 

Initial studies suggest the strong leverage effect of EUREKA projects: one million of public euro invested in a EUREKA project generates on average 2.5 million from private sources.

 

National funding agencies are the financial backbone of EUREKA: they provide the funding necessary to make a project idea a reality. They are also the decision-makers who drive national research policy.
