Belgium is a founding member of the EUREKA Initiative established in 1985, and continues to be a major contributor to European RD&I projects.
In keeping with the EUREKA principles of a “bottom up” approach and flexibility, projects covering “all topics at any time” are accepted. The national evaluation procedure (with technical and economic experts) lasts 2-4 months.
The Belgian office has a regional structure (Federal, Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia) and provides information on the funding schemes, while also offering consulting, networking and information services.
