Funding of RD&I projects is granted by the regional Funding Bodies, and in exceptional cases by the federal Authorities. Funding applications for EUREKA projects are evaluated by experts according to technology, market potential, management and financing. The funding may be a low-interest loan or a grant, depending on the stage of the innovation and the nature of the proposed project. A project may involve also international cooperation and researcher mobility. Several types of funding are available through the ISRIB (Brussels), IWT (Flanders) and SPW DG06 (Wallonia). However, the general funding rules are shown in the table below:
