The rapid evolution of smart systems from specific technologies used in a narrow set of markets to a wide range of technologies applied to a broad market base demands dynamic action by the world’s electronics and microelectronics industries. EUREKA’s response is EURIPIDES, which promotes the development of new products, processes and services using or enabling the use of integrated smart systems based on microtechnology.
The Cluster’s projects are working on a diverse range of advanced reliable electronic systems based on miniaturisation, low energy, connectivity using micro- and nanotechnologies, interconnects and packaging. Their impact will be felt in many sectors, from biomedical and transport to aeronautics, space, energy, telecommunications, industrial process control, multimedia and e-commerce.
