The Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA) is the major funding body for EUREKA programme in Lithuania. From the 3rd of August, 2011 MITA has started to implement a new Project supported by the European Union Structural funds, called „EUREKA". The grant was received according to the national rules of EU Structural Funds. The main aim of the Project is to provide financial support for Lithuanian participants (universities, research institutes) in EUREKA individual and cluster Projects. The financial support is only available for the Projects that have been endorsed at the HLG (High Level Group) meetings. In 2011, MITA ensured funding for 23 currently running EUREKA Projects. From 2012 MITA will start to implement a new funding scheme for further EUREKA Projects.
