Sweden was one of the first countries to join the EUREKA network in 1985. The management of the EUREKA activities in Sweden has been assigned to the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, VINNOVA.

VINNOVA is also the main funding agency for EUREKA projects. VINNOVA’s funding scheme for EUREKA projects has an open call and covers all topics suggested by companies and research organizations wishing to participate in EUREKA projects.
