EUREKA MEMBER > Switzerland

Switzerland is among the founding countries of EUREKA and chaired the initiative in 1995/1996. With its market oriented bottom-up approach, EUREKA mirrors perfectly the Swiss innovation promotion system and complements the thematic calls of the European Framework Programme for Research and Development. EUREKA offers valuable prospects for international collaboration for the Swiss industry, especially SMEs.

The Swiss EUREKA office, administrated by the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology, advises project applicants on all aspects of European collaboration and provides feedback on trends for policy making purposes. Close collaboration is established with the main funding agency, the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI). On average, 3 national evaluation sessions by CTI are available for each EUREKA meeting held to examine labeling the projects.
