FUNDING SCHEME

Introduction

The Turkish EUREKA support system was designed in line with EUREKA's main objectives and aims to support EUREKA projects of Turkish companies in a favourable way.
- An online application tool was implemented for Turkish participants.
- All eligible costs of companies are covered by a grant throughout a project's duration.
- There is no specific application deadline or cut-off date for project applications.
- Any Turkish company can apply for funding.

Evaluation procedure

In the first stage, project proposals are evaluated by independent experts and final evaluation reports are prepared.
In the second stage, these reports are presented to the Evaluation Committee for a final decision. The evaluation of project proposals is concluded in approximately three months.
The following activities are funded: conceptual development, technological/technical and economic feasibility studies, laboratory studies during the process of transition from conceptual development to design, design and development, prototype production, establishment of pilot plants, test runs, patenting and licensing.
The following are eligible expenses: personnel, travel of personnel and consultants, instruments, equipment and computer software used for R&D purposes, direct expenditure for materials etc., consultancy services and other services need for R&D work, extramural R&D conducted by universities and public & private research organizations, and patent applications.

UniversityUniversities cannot directly be funded by TUBITAK but they can participate in a EUREKA/Eurostars project with a Turkish company. If the Turkish company pays for the university's expenses, they can receive certain amount of this expense from TUBITAK as grant.
