With global competition intensifying, Europe must strengthen its economic competitiveness or risk losing ground. Maintaining its leadership will require ambitious policies and effective mechanisms, underpinned by a world-class research and innovation (R&I) ecosystem capable of attracting talent, transforming research into market-ready solutions, and enabling innovative companies to scale.
But how can this be achieved? Through a series of keynote speeches and panel discussions, we will explore this question from multiple perspectives: the role of international cooperation in an increasingly polarised world; the balance between strategic direction and bottom-up, curiosity-driven research; and the measures needed to ensure that European innovations reach the market more quickly and successfully.
