EUREKA will be an official media partner for this EU Irish Presidency event on Nanotechnology innovation, which is also Europe’s largest nanotechnology and materials conference. Over 70 high profile international speakers from industry, government and research will discuss the economic and technological impact of nanotechnologies on European growth, as well as the benefits of nanotechnology in every-day life and society. The speakers include representatives from Shell, Nokia, Intel, Philips Healthcare and the Max-Planck Institute, as well as Commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn. The conference focuses on the impact nanotechnology is bringing in solving societal problems in environment, energy and health showcasing innovation as a driver of economic growth.
Lars Pleth Nielsen, Chairman of EUREKA E!Surf Umbrella will represent EUREKA and present in the “current and future transnational financial supports” parallel workshop on June 20 addressing topics such as current transnational funding schemes; exploring the political benefits and hurdles to such schemes; highlighting their benefit for small member states or regions and conclude with a panel discussion of available opportunities and experiences to engage university, industry and government's decision-makers so that they can coordinate and influence the support structures in their regions.
