Korea and France launch call for joint R&D projects

Korea and France recently announced a call for joint industrial R&D project proposals. As for all EUREKA projects, the proposals should focus on the development of innovative products, processes and services for civilian and commercial applications. The joint Korea-France call is open to all technological areas, with a specific focus on biotechnology and medical technology, energy and environment technology, robot, automobile and machinery systems technology, materials & nanotechnology; and information and communication technology.

The submission deadline for the project proposals is March 31 for the first half of the year and August 31, 2015 for the second half of the year. Project proposals should be submitted using the EUREKA project application form.

Projects approved by KIAT in Korea and Bpifrance in France will receive access to public funding. Both Korea and France will fund its eligible participants in accordance to their national procedures and funding rules.

The project partnership should include at least one Korean and one French R&D performing commercial company. The participation of research institutes and universities is welcome as additional participants or subcontractors according to each country’s funding regulations. The projects should clearly demonstrate the contribution of the participants from both Korea and France. Furthermore, the proposals should have an obvious advantage and added value resulting from the cooperation.
