Eureka funding description:

Funding in Czech Republic

The « EUREKA Programme in Czech Republic » offers funding opportunities to Czech companies, universities and research organizations wishing to participate in EUREKA projects. Project evaluation is conducted at national level in accordance with the Czech EUREKA Board. A project has to be endorsed by the EUREKA procedure in order to receive funding.

Restrictions

In addition to the Czech partners, at least one organisation from another EUREKA member states has to be included in the consortium. Foreign Partners have to submit the proposal to their respective national EUREKA offices in order for their participation to be approved. Czech partners only will be funded by the MEYS. Main Czech partner in EUREKA project should be private company. Project proposals of Czech organisations' participation in Cluster Projects have to be accompanied by the Full Project Proposal (FFP) submitted to the Cluster and the Approval by the Cluster's evaluation team.

General Procedures

Bottom-up approach: Open to all technological fields. Project evaluation is conducted at international level. The procedure lasts up to 3 months. Support for Czech organizations that have submitted a proposal in the framework of the «EUROSTARS» Programme of the EUREKA Organisation.

Restrictions

In addition to the Czech partners, at least one organisation from another EUROSTARS member state has to be included in the consortium. Czech partners only will be funded by the MEYS Eurostars procedure.. Project Duration: Up to 36 Months.

General Procedures

Bottom-up approach: Open to all technological fields. Project evaluation is conducted at national level. The procedure lasts between 3-6 months.
Supports the participation of Czech organisations and universities in new EUREKA Projects (Projects that have not been endorsed by the EUREKA procedure before the submission of the proposal), including Cluster Projects.

About this country

Czech Republic has been a member of the EUREKA network since 1995. The responsibility of the EUREKA activities for Czech Republic has been committed to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Czech Chaimanship was held in the year 2005/2006.

MEYS started national procedure in 1995 and all the time arranged EUREKA public promotion. In the reason Czech participants in EUREKA projects have opportunities to be co-funded by MEYS (not funding Agency) has been created national EUREKA and EUROSTARS scheme. The National advisory body - Czech EUREKA/EUROSTARS Board is involved and helps there as well.
