Apart from in humans, iron deficiency is still a major problem in several segments of the livestock industry, with piglet anaemia as the most widespread. The main objective of this project is to develop a new hem-iron product obtained from pig blood waste in slaughterhouses.

The purpose of this project is the study, the interpretation and the utilisation of the effects of migration that an ultrasound field produces in inclusions of micro and nano bubbles, with therapeutic purpose in different medicine fields.

A novel biomimetic bioreactor for biomaterial/tissue characterization/cultivation under precisely defined conditions mimicking those in intervertebral discs will be constructed. Bioreactor optimization will be performed in conjunction with development and assessment of novel biomedical biomaterials.
