Smart solar led luminaire: bringing the solar energy to smart, comfortable and efficient lighting solution

To develop a complete solar lighting solution for lummination of areas where power grid is not present and an adequate quantity of sunlight is available. Product consists of modular and exchangeable parts with very high technical performances ensuring top performances.

Project aims to develop completely new product, where modern solar lighting system technology meets user friendly, ravishingly designed android application. Unique combination of technical solutions gives us an innovative, easy to use solar lighting solution for a variety of applications, used for national guard activities, rescuing, road-works or home purposes. As opposed to competitive solar lighting products that are formed into one unchangeable whole that makes product suitable for single application, SSLL is made of 4 changeable blocks, each with numerous sub-selections. With enormous number of possible combination, this modular structure allows adjustments to all sorts of different usage possibilities and environmental demands: - High efficient LED diodes - Battery bank with excellent technical characteristics and a lot of charging cycles - Photovoltaic solar panel SSLL system is integral whole, that can be shaped to every user’s demand and is future expandable with different software changes or changes in existing hardware modules. Due to usage of photovoltaic solar panel as power source for charging battery bank, the SSLL represent perfect solution for green-powered lighting. Furthermore, usage of SSLL reduces carbon emissions in environment because no fossil fuels are needed to produce electricity for its powering, consequently making our planet and population greener and healthier. Other excellent SSLL characteristics are small size of the whole system and light-weight construction, which it makes suitable for deployment on almost any desirable location. Because of fast out of the box assembly and reverse disassembly, SSLL represents perfect solution for light source on remote locations where demands for light are needed fast and there is no light or electrical infrastructure. An Android application is an information bridge between SSLL and final user, using modern Blue-tooth technology. Application is carefully designed to ease usage, so practically no learning curve is needed to master all its functions, making it suitable even for users with no electrical or programming background. For more experienced users the application contains two more sub-windows that allow monitoring of more technical data such as single battery cell charge state, whole battery bank charge state, photovoltaic solar panel voltage and current, battery bank voltage and current, efficiency of MPPT charger power transfer from photovoltaic solar panel to battery bank, two temperatures of battery bank and one temperature of LED lamp module for safety purposes, state of lamp dimming, information of programmed time segments with according dimming states, represented with numbers and modernly designed graph and finally error report in case of any possible errors. SSLL has the ability of not only firmware updates and changes, but also personalization of the whole lighting system with customer demands, such as adding firmware features that are desired by the user, for example adding more dimming time segments, adding calendar functionality or adding firmware support for external movement sensor. Another advantage from competitive products is possibility of communicating with SSLL through BT module and android application, with existing features: - Calculating accurate state of the charge of the battery bank and dimming LED lamp to provide light through whole night even at low state of the charge of the battery bank is great advantage from on/off function in similar solar products. This function is extremely important because even 50% dimmed lamp is better at night than turned off lamp, where the absence of light during the night is increasing possibility of dangerous accidents. -Two to five time segments with different LED lamp dimming over the day allows complete personalization of lighting for every user’s desire, for example user can set that SSLL will turn on every day at 17:00 hours with 50% of light power, then at 19:30 it will increase lighting power to 100%, then at 23:00 it will reduce lighting power to 70%, at 2:00 it will reduce lighting power to 30% and at 6:00 it will turn of LED lamp. Furthermore, using lower LED lamp dimming expands autonomy of SSLL system. Competitive edge at this function is that time segments are user changeable and are not static preprogrammed in factory as similar solar high class products might have. - Real time statistic of the SSLL components characteristic, which can be used to provide different levels of protection measures or to inform eager to learn user, thus raising level of knowledge about green powered solar energy among people and helping our planet to become a greener place. SSLL system is integral whole, that can be shaped to every user’s demand and is future expandable with different software changes or hardware modules.
