Adaptive heat source (fluid & solid & halogen)

Adaptive heat source (ahs) is a system of more independent electric heating sources that can be combined with each other to achieve the maximum heating efficiency. The research focused on the development of three versions of this system, ahs for fluid, solid and halogen.

1. What do you want to do? There is a large number of different electric heaters of fluid and solid bodies that are based on the generate of heat within electro-resistant materials. The central part of these heaters is an electrical resistance wire of adequate power and dimensions. The electrical resistance wire usually made of a kanthal or other electro-resistant material. If the electric resistance wire is damaged or cutoff, the electric heater is out of function, repairing it means the replacement of the complete wire, complete replacement of the electric heater. This is one of the main problems associated with the use of an electrical resistance wire as a central core of electric heaters of different powers and shapes. Another, very important problem is the technical impossibility of efficient partial heating of the electro-resistant wire. Furthermore, the electric heater of a certain power has the corresponding length of the electric resistance wire according to the required power of the heater. The same wire is usually fixed in the appropriate housing. By bringing the electrical voltage at the ends of this heater, entire heater is heated. For these reasons, there was a need to overcome these shortcomings using the innovative solution Adaptive Heat Source (AHS). Adaptive heat source comprises several heat elements of different power, dimensions and shapes. By using combinations of these elements, the required temperature distribution of the complete heater and its high energy efficiency can be provided. As part of this project, development of three potential products is planned: a) AHS - Fluid (heating the fluid in the flow by convection); b) AHS - Solid (heating a solid body by conduction); c) AHS - Halogen (heating of rooms and various bodies by radiation). The stated solutions of the AHS system are planned in the first, second and third year of the project, respectively. 2. Why and how do you want to do it? The primary aim of this project is to obtain three commercial solutions of AHS heating devices, for heating the fluid, solid body and multipurpose heating by radiation. Also, the aim of this project is to get a range of AHS heater bodies for various possibilities of different applications in industry, households, etc. Compared to the current state of the art, the AHS system has the ability to geometrically and energetically adjust to fluid, solid body or ambient, with which it establishes maximum heat exchange and minimum heat losses. This leads to maximizing the efficiency of the AHS system in relation to existing versions of heaters of this type. Heating elements can be combined into appropriate energy packages. The same number of heating elements can have different overall power and spatial distribution of the same within a volume. The heating elements of the AHS system, such as different shaped "LEGO elements", of various sizes and shapes, mounted as needed and desirable, enabling a large number of different combinations. The secondary aim of this project is to extend the life of existing heating bodies and their reliability. The further aim of this project is to enable simple assembly and disassembly of the basic heating elements of adaptive heating bodies, which will indirectly enable the wider application of adaptive heating bodies both in the households and in the industry. Technical characteristics of the AHS system: - Electrical voltage, 12V; 24V, 220V. - Power of heating elements; from 5W to 100W and more, with different step. - Heated fluid: air, inert gas. - Heated solid: without limitation other than explosive and chemically reactive materials. - Field of application: Various industrial branches and households. - State of the art: An innovative product, nothing similar within the present state of the art. - Assembly/ disassembly: simple and fast, and does not require special tools. - The possibility of replacing damaged heating elements? - YES. - The heating elements are independent of each other? - YES. 3. How will you make money? Production and sales of AHS systems in different assortments and quantities. Sales points: Eldom d.o.o in Tuzla, and various sales outlets in Belgrade and other cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
