Bacteriostatic additives and fibres for higher hygienic safety of textiles

Development of new antibacterial additives, fibres and
textile materials designed for protection of humans
against pathogenic microorganisms.

Execution of the project is divided into research and development in 3 fields: Antibacterial additives: Research of application of particular types of anti- bacterial additives for selected fibre types manufactured in the CZECH REPUBLIC with the aim to optimize qualitative parameters of the additives for the assortment of chemical fibres regarding their chemical basis, type, fineness and processing technology. Bacteriostatic fibres: Development of new types of bacteriostatic polypropylene staple fibres of cotton and woollen type, determination of binding manufacturing processes regarding subsequent workability and required physico-mechanical parameters. Bacteriostatic textiles: Development of high performance textile materials based on the developed bacteriostatic fibres with higher hygienic safety, protecting human health against pathogenic microorganisms. The developed additives, fibres and textiles will meet hygienic and performance requirements according to relevant STN, CSN and European standards. Keywords: fibres, yarns, fabrics, bacteriostatic.
