To construct a pilot plant for the highly innovative recycling processing of used auto tires

The principal goal of the present project is to carry out a series of industrial-scale actions resulting in the launch of a NEW advanced and highly innovative type of poly-generation pilot plant. The plant in question will introduce revolutionary technological solutions, with the principal feature being a one of a kind recycling system. The system in question functions by using the thermal energy obtained from cogeneration motors and thus improves the overall energy production yield by no less than 30% (compared to currently existing cogeneration plants). In addition, the project will allow for resolving an immense EU-wide ecological problem (used automobile tyres, UAT (Used Automobile Tyres)) while increasing the share of poly-generation in overall energy production. In addition, the project will also provide for immediate technology transfer towards countries with moderate poly-generation production, such as SLOVAKIA and the CZECH REPUBLIC. It will do so through the demonstrable production launch and further technological development of the latter plant type, demonstrating and confirming its higher energy yield, with little or no environmental impact at all, making the entire plant operation more effective and reducing the expected investment payoff time. At the project's conclusion the partners will have a ready to use solution for their present day technological ambitions. By doing so, the project also improves upon the competitiveness of SMEs (Small and Medium sized Enterprises) involved, placing them at the forefront of the poly-generation field involving industry-based operations. As a result, the project's consortium plans to develop the proposed plant model even further and subsequently construct several more plants across the EU providing a unique commercial solution to the disposal problem concerning used automobile tyres while producing significant energy output intended for external sales. TECHNICAL OBJECTIVES: 1. Launch of a pilot plant in the Province of Cadiz, SPAIN, with the capacity to treat 10,000 tons of UAT per year, 6,000 tons of gas oil 2,000 tons of carbon powder and 2,000 of steel, while completely covering its thermal energy needs. 2. Improvement of by-products obtained from the tyre distillation process at a constant temperature of 400 degrees Celsius with two, cylinder-like, special pressure and distillation tanks. The distillation tank will have a 2-metre diameter, 10-metre length and will be placed horizontally within the future installation. The pressure tank will also have a 2.4-metre diameter, a 6-metre length and will be placed in a certain angle in order to enable a smooth technological process operation. Both tanks will be designed to retain the thermal energy and enable the decomposition of tyres. STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES: 1. Launch of a new and innovative poly-generation pilot plant combining recycling with cogeneration. 2. Treatment of 10,000 tons of UAT per year. 4. Combustible/fuel, steel and coal powder production and sale. 5. Implementation of the plant model in the rest of the EU. ENVIRONMENTAL OBJECTIVES: 1. Reduce the UAT environmental impact. 2.
