Advanced composite repair tooling for wind turbine blade maintenance

within this project, novel adapted tooling will be developed, complying with wind turbine specificities and requirements (easily mounted, lightweight equipment, conceived to be served by non specialist) in order to develop both the instu and workshop performance of the surface preparation and the hot bonding of composite repairs on wind turbine blades, comprising in: - replacement of current abrasion systems, such as orbital sander and radial sander to remove damaged layers, with specifically designed mechanical tools and new laser systems. - Controlling and optimization of the cure cycles of the epoxy resin used during repair operations.- Simplification of the currently used heating and vacuum systems.).
