The overall aim of this project is to develop a complete and integrated system of instrumentation and computer analysis on the basis of nuclear magnetic resource (NMR) data, capable of solving three-dimensional structures of small to medium-sized proteins (up to 150 residues) on a routine basis within a timescale of a few weeks. In addition, the knowledge of the protein structure-function relationship will be developed further. The applications of this within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries will range from the design of highly specific pharmaka to sophisticated enzymes for use in biotechnology.
