Interactive board game

The project will develop a production grade (mass production low cost) of an interactive dvd board game that is connected to a dvd player or a tv via the internet. This entails a specially design asic in a control and communication unit and rfid communication from the board to the control unit.

The objective of the project is to develop a board game connected to a DVD player or a TV via the Internet or cable. Board games have been very popular and we all know games such as Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Who wants to become a millionaire, etc. The idea is to connect these games to a TV where the questions and pictures of what needs to be answered or solved appear on the TV screen. SAGAMEDIA EHF. is experienced in working with this technology as the team has already successfully marketed the brand ‘dvd-kids’ and the technology it is based on worldwide. This new project idea will in part be built on the ‘dvd-kids’ technology but it is necessary to develop a supplement to it. These technical supplements as a part of the project mainly involve the interactivity to and from the board game and the handling of the communication sent back and forth. A first prototype of the control unit and the board are already done. The objective of the project is to develop a production grade prototype that fulfils certain minimum demands regarding production price and functionality. A cooperation contract has been done with TACTIC in FINLAND for the distribution in Nordic countries and parts of Europe and they will participate substantially in the production development. An introduction to a worldwide distribution partner has taken place and has been promising. The project has been well received from licensors and content providers such as Disney, National Geographic and others.
