Study and develop a new generation modular chiller for safer and cleaner drinks

The pure-chill project will address applied r&d in design methodology, advanced materials and related production techniques and sensoristics for the development of a new generation safe, clean and innovative dispenser of cold beverages.

The need to increase the quality, health and cleanliness of food and drinks - from production to use - is the key aim of preservation, refrigeration and dispensing processes. Many different processes for chilling have been developed, depending on drink characteristics and distributing modalities. In the case of drinks, and especially alcoholic drinks like wine and spirits, several solutions to tap and refrigerate are today available on the market. In the PURE-CHILL project, based on the patent SM-B-200400021, the target is to overcome the limits of available solutions and, by addressing applied R&D in design methodology, advanced materials and related production techniques and sensoristics, to develop a new generation safe, clean and innovative dispenser of cold beverages. More specifically, the main target of ‘PURE-CHILL’ is to develop an instantaneous, clean and safe tapping and refrigerating system able to be customised for different kinds of drinks. PURE-CHILL will develop a modular system able to guarantee the quality of drinks and typical properties (avoiding contamination from external agents like ice, other drinks’ residue in the dispensing unit, etc.). PURE-CHILL, thanks to an instantaneous dispensing system, will ensure very high quality in a product (referring to healthy and taste aspects). The project will address many areas: design methodology, materials and processing techniques, electronic devices and sensors, described more in the following fields.
