Enterprise content publishing suite for the graphic communication industry

To develop the technology needed by graphic communication industry to enlarge their current pure print offer to new services focused on the delivery of content through multiple channels (traditional print, digital print, web, mobile, ebook, tv, etc. ) Demanded by an increasingly digital world.

Up today, graphic communication industry has grown providing the needed service to brand owners to package and deliver their content in an almost 100% print world. They have the relations, manage their content (libraries of images or pages mostly in the form of proprietary files or PDFs) and deliver printed paper. Nowadays, the traditional graphic communication industry (publishers, agencies and print service providers) is under great pressure: on one side the delivery digital of content is growing (web, the new smart phones, e-books/tablets and new digital TV) which provokes great impact on the demand of traditional printed material; on the other hand new digital printing technologies are demanded with higher quality offered and longer print runs at competitive price. In this new environment, the only path to the future for the graphic communication industry is to evolve into a complete content provider that can leverage on their relation with their customers, increasing their know how to transform raw content into a communication tool and offer all the added added that consumers demand in printed material to the new digital content world. This ability will require for the graphic communication industry to be capable of: - Manage their digital assets. - Increase its knowledge about transforming, adapting, packaging and preflight of content raw content - Tightly integrate into delivery applications and networks - Improve their workflow to provide better control and automation Delivering that content efficiently (with high productivity) means having a fully integrated system that can seamlessly share content for the two worlds (print and e-content), allowing content repurposing, assuring content integrity across different channels (print, web, mobile, tv,…) while maintaining the high quality standards (both in design and validation) that we are used today in the printed world. The best positioned to develop and deliver these new systems are current graphic communication suppliers (magazine and book publishers, printers) that have the knowledge and expertise on the industry core business (delivering print content) and have developed open, web enabled, media neutral solutions to enable cross media publishing. Seinet, as a developer of collaborative authoring solutions for publishers, and AGFA as a supplier of technology, services and materials for this market have the expertise, market knowledge, customer base and sales channel to develop, test and productize such solution. Both companies have previously developed an integrated publishing solution for the printed world as part of an ETRANET funded project (2007-2009) and are interested in extending the research and development to this new world.
