Strategic platform to promote european knowledge partnerships in food, feed and valorization of primary products.

By bringing together national agrifood clusters&programmes&in close connection with european platforms this network facilitates organisations within the agrifood sector to access knowledge&funds, find partners, enter new markets&build proj that lead to innovative products/processes/services.

The proposed EUREKA umbrella is a continuation of three former successful Eureka umbrellas: EUROAGRI, EUROAGRI +, and EuroAgri FoodChain. The objective of the Euroagri Foodchain_2 umbrella is to support companies, especially SME’s, in agrifood sector with their international innovation and business ambitions in a bottom-up approach. By knowledge transfer, matchmaking, information sharing and support of international innovation cooperation, we aim to improve the economic position of those companies and the European agrifood sector as a whole. With an extensive international network at its disposal (industry representatives, national technology platforms, government bodies), the umbrella can facilitate projects and information sharing. The support to the agrifood industry and knowledge organisations in international R&D cooperation will add value to national clusters, programs and governments wills. The promotion of strategic partnerships will be pursued. As example, a strategic partnership between the ETP Food for Life, including their connected National Technology Platforms and this new EUREKA “Food umbrella” would allow – being close to food companies - to boost and speed up the innovation process in food companies, especially in SME’s, and by doing so strengthen their competitiveness.
