Biogas clean-up technology development for european market applications

The objective of the eureka project is to develop and scale-up quadrogen's biogas clean-up system and h2 booster from its current sub-megawatt level to 1.5 mw size and be ready for integration with dfc1500 for co-production of renewable electricity, heat and h2 from biogas in the uk and europe.

Project Overview: Under the Eureka project, Quadrogen plans to develop its Biogas clean-up system and H2 Booster from its current sub-megawatt level (300kWe) to 1.4MWe size. The megawatt size Biogas clean-up unit and H2 Booster will be ready for integration with DFC1500 for the technical and economic viability of renewable electricity, heat and green hydrogen production using biogas or landfill gas in the United Kingdom and Europe. Quadrogen's Integrated Biogas Clean-up System (IBCS) with its advancements will adapt to the local biogas quality and its variability as well as comply with European codes and standards. Technical Objective: To develop 1.4MWe DFC1500 compatible Quadrogen’s IBCS gas clean-up technology suited to the local biogas characteristics, as well as compliance with European codes and standards. Also, develop 1.4MWe DFC1500 compatible H2 Booster design from its current sub-megawatt level for integration into a proposed project in compliance with European codes and standards. Commercial Objectives: The co-produced clean electricity, heat and green hydrogen using biogas derived from waste supports smart grid management and could convert “soft” energy derived from wind and solar resources to reliable utility quality power. There is a growing interest in this clean and green energy area for smart grid management which is a multi-billion dollar opportunity. Also, green hydrogen could be used for industrial applications as well as for filling in hydrogen fueled vehicles including fuel cell vehicles. This will lead to significant market potential for Quadrogen’s products and services in Europe.
