Supplementation of beta-glucans feeding in rainbow trout and siberian sturgeon

To develop new forms of supplements from shiitake, based on beta-glucans and lentinan that may eventually eliminate the use of antibiotics and coccidiostats in breeding and fattening fish farms species, evaluating the implementation of this improvement.

The current market trend is the reduction of fish as far as possible the administration of antibiotics to animals in their feed consumption to achieve the eradication of antibiotics definitely , it appears that the future of the animal feed sector appears linked the " immunomodulators " , these new substances can stimulate or depress the immune response in the animals and increase operating parameters thereof. They are presented as an alternative to antibiotics in order to reduce the increasing bacterial resistance and avoid the presence of residues in animal products . Therefore this project aims at the development of the formulation and / or new dosage of supplements from Shiitake ( Lentinula edodes ), rich in β -glucans and branched high molecular weight β -glucans called lentinan, along the feed used for fish farming, to establish optimal dose, optimal stage indicated, so can get to set in the near future patent potential feed supplements for breeding rainbow trout and Siberian sturgeon eliminating as far as possible that the use of antibiotics, coccidiostats, and decreasing the maximum possible casualties suffered by these populations in epidemiological outbreaks suffering during rearing and fattening fish-farms. Also try to evaluate the operating parameters in fish-farms ( mortality rate, morbidity rate, conversion rate, daily consumption rates , increased kilograms compared to negative controls, etc...) in the breeding of these species, in order to correlate the increaseof these parameters, with the dosage used in the supplements created, and evaluate the economic benefits could have the implementation of this improvement. In Spain the following activities (in parentheses the company assigned to each activity is set) will be developed:  ACTIVITY 1 (Viveros de los Pirineos S.A.) Experimentation in rainbow trout from roes to weight ration trout (250 grams).  ACTIVITY 2 (Viveros de los Pirineos S.A.) Experimentation in rainbow trout from the trout ration weight (250 grams) to trout imperial weight (2.5 kilos ) .  ACTIVITY 3 (Viveros de los Pirineos S.A.) Experimentation in juvenile sturgeon from sexing up .  ACTIVITY 4 (Viveros de los Pirineos S.A.) Experimentation in female sturgeon farming from 3 to 4 years . *  ACTIVITY 5 (Viveros de los Pirineos S.A.) Optimization fattening females > 5 years until spawning roe for caviar production. * * Activity optimization fattening female sturgeon are split into two activities (activities 4 and 5 in Spain) to define all the cycle of growth of Siberian sturgeon which is usually at least 4 years from sexing to slaugthered. These activities are oriented to the optimization of the sturgeon meat and caviar obtention. In France the following activities will also be developed (in parentheses the company assigned to each activity are placed ) :  ACTIVITY 6 (Viviers de Sarrance S.A.S.) Rating reproductive capacity of females and roes intended for reproduction of rainbow trout.  ACTIVITY 7 (NURSETEICH L'ESTURGEONNIÉRE S.A.S.) Rating reproductive capacity of females and roes intended for breeding Siberian sturgeon ** The activity ** 7 also focuses only on optimizing the production of caviar and sturgeon roes destined to reproductive activities.
